Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia will serve as the scientific host of the 10th International Conference on Plasmodium Vivax Research (ICPvR 2027), to be held from May 19 to 21, 2027. This event is the most important global scientific meeting dedicated to the study of Plasmodium vivax, the parasite responsible for millions of malaria cases worldwide and one of the major challenges in international public health.

The selection of Peru as the host country, and Cayetano as the scientific venue, was announced on February 14, 2025, during the 9th ICPvR held in Puducherry, India. This decision reaffirms regional leadership in malaria research and highlights the sustained contribution of our research teams to understanding and addressing the biological, epidemiological, and social complexities of P. vivax.

Under the theme “Uniting Science Against Plasmodium vivax,” ICPvR 2027 will bring together specialists, researchers, and institutional representatives from more than 30 countries, who will share recent findings, innovative approaches, and strategies aimed at strengthening P. vivax control at a global scale.

The official ICPvR 2027 information platform will be launched soon, centralizing details on the scientific program, thematic sessions, invited speakers, and participation mechanisms for the scientific community and specialized audiences. Information on pre- and/or post-conference activities will also be announced in due course.

Hosting ICPvR 2027 in Peru marks a milestone for national science and represents a strategic opportunity to showcase the country’s contribution to global health. With this edition, Cayetano reaffirms its commitment to research excellence and to initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of life of vulnerable populations.
